The James & Rye is a quiet invitation in the heart of Downtown, hidden in plain sight on East Douglas. We’re not flashy. We’re not loud. We’re just serious about cocktails and creating space actually to enjoy them.
Started by two Wichita siblings, our cocktail lounge is perfect for a pre-show Martini, a post-dinner wind-down, or just taking it easy after a long day. We built it for locals who love Wichita and appreciate a place with good taste and zero pretense.

The James & Rye comes from Bobby. He’s the people-person with the big bar idea and wanted to give Wichita something fresh, a space that’s upscale yet down-to-earth, elegant yet easygoing.
